FAQ

Inquiring Minds Want to Know!

What do I bring with me to my lesson?
Wear a swimsuit, bring a towel and swim cap.
What should I do with my hair?
If your child has long hair, it should be pulled back into a ponytail, or a swim cap should be worn so hair doesn't interfere with breathing.

Should I bring goggles?
If you don't have goggles, we have some your child can borrow.
What type goggles do you recommend?
Not all goggles fit all faces. If you're purchasing goggles, we recommend Speedo, TYR or Aquasphere.
Do you have a preferred place to purchase swim items?
You can purchase them at just about any store like Target or Walmart.  If you wish to order them online, go to SwimOutlet.com .
How do I make sure I get the right fit for goggles?
If the goggles are packaged so that you can try them on, hold to your child's face without the strap and press the goggles against the face. If you get suction on both eyes they should be a good fit. If you get suction on one eye and the other holds for an instant, they will probably still work once the strap is on.
Speedo goggle packages might be sealed but if you follow the age recommendation they usually work. Anti-fog goggles are a definite plus.
What if my child wears glasses?
If your child wears glasses, you may want to order prescription goggles. They are available at SwimOutlet.com.

Additional Payment and Class Information

Payments:  Tuition is adjusted and pre-paid each month. Most months have four weeks and the cost is $100 for the month if you are scheduled for one class/week. Amount is adjusted for the months where you have three classes ($75) or five classes ($125). After initial enrollment and payment, tuition is debited from your card on file at the beginning of the month. Tuition is based on the number of scheduled classes each month, not the number of classes your child attends.
Drop Dates Once you have enrolled in the class, you will retain that spot and automatically be rolled over to the next month. If you know the date you want to drop the class, you may enter it at the time of registration. If you don't know the date when you register, you may go into the program and set your drop date at any time. You are responsible for dropping the class. You must drop prior to the last day of the month, so you won't be charged for the entire upcoming month. Example: you want your last day to be June 12, your drop date must be set by May 31. In this case, your June tuition would be for two weeks.

  • Adult Classes are offered periodically and are not always listed on the calendar for registration. Contact Jennifer Walton at DolphinSwimSchool.jax@gmail.com to check on upcoming classes.
  • Makeup Classes: Due to limited pool availability and small class sizes, we are unable to offer makeup classes.
  • Canceled Classes: Classes canceled due to weather or pool maintenance issues will be made up.
  • Weather: Lessons will be held if it is raining. In the event of severe storms, we will exit the pool and classes may be delayed or canceled, in which case you will be notified by email or text.
